04 Jun Federation announces sales in key territories for Dutch high-octane cop series AMSTERDAM VICE
Federation Entertainment has finalized a raft of key sales agreements for AMSTERDAM VICE. The Dutch crime thriller series, produced by Millstreet Films, has been sold to Walter Presents (UK), AMC (Spain & Portugal), Russian Report (Russia), as well as RTP (Portugal), and SBS (Australia). Further sales in the US and other territories are close to being finalised and will be announced shortly.
AMSTERDAM VICE – 8 X 52’
Set in Amsterdam against the backdrop of the tumultuous 1980’s coronation riots, a young detective Judd Cox has just been promoted to one of the toughest police departments in the city. Along with his partner Montyn, they are investigating a murder case that leads to plans for an attack on the coronation day of Princess Beatrix. In a race against time they strive to thwart the attack, in the busy, ramshackle historical city centre of 80’s Amsterdam, where drug dealers, squatters and the wealthy middle class all strive to co-exist.
AMSTERDAM VICE is the prequel to the stories written by A. C. Baantjer, the most successful Dutch book franchise of all time. AMSTERDAM VICE was selected by Festival de la Fiction de la Rochelle and is selected as a Silver Remi Award winner by the Houston International Film Festival and won a Colden Calf for Best Production Design at the Netherlands Film Festival.
Produced by Rachel van Bommel, Millstreet Films (The Neighbors, Loft, Sophie), the series is co-produced by Hilde De Laere, FBO (The Fifth Estate, Callboys, The Prime Minister, The Day). Directed by Arne Toonen (Black Out, Dik Trom) and Lourens Blok (Lois, Boy 7).
